Help me understand

A failed public school system that allows children to fall through the cracks with petty requirements for graduation not making exceptions for ones situation outside of school, ones situation outside of school, people who can’t deal with the bullying inside of school.

Virginia. I’m in a Uni atm I graduated HS With a legitimate diploma but I only did so through an alternative school. My 7th grade year I was getting bullied so bad I dropped out halfway through and was behind a year. My 10th grade year I failed over technicalities. In my city if you miss more than 2 days for a class it doesn’t matter if you have an A in the class it’s automatically turned into an F if you don’t make up the time. If you miss more days it’s more time that has to be made up to the point it can be unviable to do so. I failed 2 classes because of this and it put me a half credit under being a junior. I went to alternative school the next year because I got expelled but I was able to graduate on time instead of 2 years behind. I was going to drop out completely if the alt school hadn’t opened up. For other people they don’t go to school because they have to help out at home either financially or to take care of sick relatives. Realistically some dudes have to drop out to sling dope to make ends meet, some girls get pregnant and the school system makes it impossible for them to do school and parenting. A lot of public school systems in the country don’t care about you if you have circumstances beyond your control.
