Nah, that’s true about RDJ though

My nigga there was talks in 2021 about bringing Steve back, that’s not a result of their bad streak, that was basically one year after Endgame because of the pandemic pause

  • Dec 23, 2025

Needs to be the most LOTR inspired Avengers movie yet. Even more than the last four

  • Dec 23, 2025

This was a year and a half post-Endgame, BEFORE Phase 4 even started. Steve coming back was not a result of their bad streak. RDJ coming back was.

  • Dec 23, 2025

No reason for this to not be over 3 hours and a quarter without credits

    And he denied it

Priority number 1 of Marvel PR is to deny that you're in a project if you are supposed to be a surprise. Andrew Garfield was denying his return for a whole year while promoting other projects. Dafne Keen was denying her return as X-23 until Marvel released that final trailer.

I can go on and on

Mind you, The Wrap reported this last year

The contract was signed in 2021, and the project was confirmed in 2024

Its true for both them, even if Steve was gonna return, making THIS movie where RDJ is also returning like come on. Especially since this avengers was supposed to be about Kang

He posted this right after the report, but like u said mcu actors deny a lot

Pretty sure the consequences of Steve going back were even gonna be in a Kang Avengers movie, no way it wasn’t especially if the Russos were gonna do it

  • People worrying Steve Rogers coming back for the permanent Captain America title and that Sam Wilson is gonna go back to being Falcon....

There is likely one outcome, and it is becoming more clear what will be happening. Especially with what the Russo's recently came out saying about Steve Rogers/Captain America and his importance.

Steve Rogers gets clapped in Doomsday. Keep in mind, with all the time f***ery going on, there are technically two Steve Rogers in the main timeline currently. The one who is still incased in ice. And the one, who after all the events in Endgame, decided to stay and start a family. Steve Rogers has been the cause of the incursions as there are two of him from "different timelines" existing in the same one.

Tony Stark as Iron Man stated it in Endgame already.

When you mess with time, it tends to mess back.

Well who has messed with time the most in Endgame with the decision that they made...? Steve. It's part of the reason why Tony as Dr. Doom showing up in the main timeline doesn't cause any incursions to occur. That universe's Tony is already dead. Sacrificed himself in Endgame. Meaning that now another Tony is capable of existing in that timeline without causing any major disruptions.

Dr. Doom has major beef with Steve Rogers because his messing with time caused an incursion, and it resulted in him losing his son. He's coming for revenge, and he's going specifically for Steve. His plan is to fix the incursion by killing the Steve Rogers who decided to stay and start a family in a different timeline. He is going to succeed in his plan. Leading to him shaping the universe(s) in how he sees fit and becoming the God Emperor for Secret Wars. It's typical Doom affair. To him, only he is capable of ruling.

Also there's a reason why they're being specifically clear saying "Steve Rogers will return in Avengers: Doomsday" instead of outright saying "Captain America will return in Avengers: Doomsday".

    TL;DR:

MY Captain America will still be a Black man
And once again, the white man proves to be responsible for all the bad in the world

MCU actors are gonna deny everything until it’s officially confirmed either via trailer or released movie. You legit cannot trust anything they say because they are going to deny everything in the name of secrecy.

You think it’s just a coincidence that a reputable trade like Deadline was reporting news of his planned return all the way back in January 2021?

If Deadline, THR, or Variety reports it. It's basically a done deal.

Deadline, Variety, and The Hollywood Reporter

If you ever see a major film news scoop from any of these three places, then that thing is as good as confirmed

  • Dec 23, 2025

The unnecessary “you’ll see” at the very end of Tony’s “when you mess with time it tends to mess back” line kills any cynicism I had about this being completely unplanned from the jump. That last part was even weird on opening Friday in April 2019

Avengers: Doomsday is lowkey doubling as Civil War 2. Except now Tony Stark is the legitimate villain, who is in the right. And Steve Rogers is the hero, who is in the wrong.

I think Steve was always going to come back at some point, the door was literally left open for that to be the case

Nah at some point they definitely had endgame set up as him and RDJ farewell

Another great point. If the original plan was Kang & time travel stuff for Avengers 5, then there is no way they were doing a story like that without bringing back Steve Rogers, a man who literally broke the rules of time to enjoy a peaceful life when we last saw him in Endgame.

I think that if that was still the plan then maybe that appearance would’ve been kept as a surprise in Kang Dynasty rather than front and center in the first teaser like for Doomsday

They reported Patrick was supposed to come back as Xavier in Deadpool and Wolverine which was never true

Maybe in the production stages but by the time of that movie’s release, it was clear as day he would return one day based off of where his character was left
