Avengers and Dune have a decently sized crossover audience. So wouldn't it benefit both of them to be a week apart?

That way Avengers can get IMAX for at least a week, and people who want to see both won't feel the need to double feature and both opening weekends could be higher than they might've been if they stay on the same date. I don't think Dune is going to lose anything by moving to Christmas Day. Plus a movie about a holy war coming out on Christmas is kind of twistedly poetic?

I imagine a large amount of ticket sales will come from parents who don't gaf about marvel taking their kids. These parents typically aren't shelling out $25 a ticket for iMax

Dune on the other hand I imagine will be an older audience so they're more willing to dish out for premium formats

There is still a large sec of gen pop nerds who will go see Doomsday in Dolby
