so the xmen meet the second tier avengers and they fight cause the x men know that fox got bought out by disney and disney needs money in this slump before they get rebooted yet again. Its no first class x men because Disney feels days of future past and apocalypse did that. Its not even some of your favorite x men from the classic movies just because no.

So I like RDJ’s Doom voice, it’s the biggest thing I’m looking forward to. He’s tapping a bit into that James Earl Jones Shakespeare affectation I feel is a must for Doom’s voice. James Earl Jones with an Eastern European accent. It’s slightly vampiric too. I can see small details in RDJ’s performance from the little we’ve seen that he’ll be great

But REALLY tho the writing better not f*** up Doom. He’s an egotistical insecure but brilliant and ridiculous yet scary dude. Full of contradictions, but the most entertaining. A truly Shakespearean character. A sorcerer who rivals peak Doctor Strange and a tech wizard who rivals Tony Stark

Dune is still going to do very well at the box office but it’s starting to feel like this is gonna be one of the harshest “internet isn’t a real place” moments we’ve seen in a while.

the trailer is doing nothing to counter the expectation that this film is going to be a train wreck. the dim lighting might be enough to hide the rushed VFX but the fact that none of these people are in the same room is impossible to get around. it just looks really ugly.

and that’s before we even get to the setup of the film, if you can even call it that. using thor to show us we should be really afraid of doom guys!! it just rings hollow.

they really need a lot more than this to get the hype to the level it needs for this thing to turn a profit. maybe the actual movie could end up being a surprise but just going off these trailers, it’s not looking great
