They always think there's an ''agenda'' being pushed whenever people aren't sucking Kendrick's d***
It’s wild how Kendrick fans think lol. Think any kind of criticism is slander, and that it’s calculated
Is Yeat considered a street rapper? Lol
i literally had to double take yo
these cacs need to go
I don't really understand Azealia's point about white people liking your music cause the only people I see still raving about her recent music are white gays.
The way Kendrick can’t ever be criticized on this forum without that one user running in and calling it Drake fans agenda
He might be Kendrick himself
i think there's a difference in criticizing the merit of his music and its aims and a latent function.
the phrasing implies he intentionally makes music for the express purpose for the aforementioned reception by white people, and singles him out as the only rapper who's music provides this manifest function, but a bunch of rappers provide this latent function considering a large portion of the rap audience is white. is every trap rapper going to get the same criticism (future, gucci?) or even someone like jay-z because white people do what they do with a lot of things regarding the black experience? Her claims of him having white ghostwriters is also unfounded and kinda seem ridiculous. i feel like that would be a major sticking point of this if people wanted to deride his craft but it sticks out like a sore thumb as something fabricated to justify the rest of the opinion.
like the music can not be up someone's ally but the words to me are well crafted and intentional, and don't seem to be aimed at an audience of the white parents from get out. he and drake don't really make similar music to me in content, execution/delivery, or quantity. This coming from someone who doesn't really listen to kendrick casually, and
It seems so shallow of an observation but I never thought i would be spending this many words on an Azalea banks rant so that's what i get tbh.
She’s right. Bro I remember when GTA V dropped, like a year after GKMC. Had me walking around the hood terrified, playing as Franklin tryna envision Kendrick’s story lmfao. Honestly made the album even better cause I got to, as corny as it sounds, experience being black in a way.
😭😭😭😭😭

This s*** killed me the first time I saw it damn time flies.

Yeah and she doesn’t really like it lol
yeat being called a street rapper got me in tears, this genre is in the s***ter man

They think this because throughout his career, h's never really been culturally criticized for anything, so they're not used to it. Them thinking he's being attacked for every instance when someone doesn't think he's as great as everyone has always said he is proves that.

i feel like initial tpab reception was similar to mr morale and provided a space for criticism about his music more broadly. the stuff in the screenshot isn't about the music tho its about what certain fans do with it and those people do that with a lot of black music, and rap, outside of him. same could be said for future the content is just different. it seems like a silly/unserious take
Kendrick fans don’t think this thread is calculated cuz of the slander niggas just pointing out it’s the usual stan wars suspects 😭😭

GKMC/TPAB/DAMN all got instant critical acclaim upon release. They were all labelled instant classics. Let's not try to act like there was ever any subset of hip-hop culturally that said anything other than ''this s*** is classic/timeless'' when TPAB dropped lol.
No one criticized any of those albums. The response across the board for each of them was that they were flawless.
I agree with your other point but Kendrick is being discussed in this thread because he's who Azealia Banks mentioned.
The NY/ South beef is so weird cuz our coasts been collabing for decades Lmaoo
it’s crazy the passive aggressiveness is still there from southern folks, they been on top for a decade plus at this point

just let these niggas think they’re seeing through the Matrix or whatever, you’re not gonna convince them lmao

They so insecure and NY lives in their minds rent free.

Some Kendrick fans were crying about me only making this thread so people could talk s*** about Kendrick only for @iHype to reference THREE other threads made where Azealia Banks talked s*** about other people that no one said there was an agenda against but keep cooking lmao.

lmao i was on ktt, other hip hop forums and in real life when tpab dropped and people were making similar complaints about the music, "i dont wanna here this" "i mean technically its alright but i cant actively enjoy this, vibe to it" this isn't everyone but i saw this sooooo muchh etc. mr morale has critical acclaim to but its not gonna hit the same as an awaited sophomore follow up.

"I’m not saying that no one loves To Pimp a Butterfly. I’m saying that no one enjoys this album as much as we'd hoped we'd enjoy it in March." s*** like this was all over, whether you wanna go twitter, radio, podcasts, etc.
there's never a monolithic response to something but this was a decent portion of the response, from what i saw

It’s funny to watch cuz all the coasts influence each other. I pointed out how EPMD made a prototype g funk record before Dre and Above The Law but on the flip side
DJ Premier had a hand in plenty of classic NY records and he’s from Houston, Texas lol

Were the other threads made by people who engage in stan wars against the people she was s*** talking or nah
It’s the usual suspects like I said lmao
