Give it a rest bruh because it's obvious you really do not know what you're talking about and you're only making yourself look dumber.

Treach has been regarded as one of the best the east coast had to offer since the 90s. I have no f***in clue where you get this idea that NYers didn't respect him or hold him and Naughty by Nature in high regard.

    Quas

Calls Doja "Doja Lamar" & calls Kendrick "Overrated"...

But she's comparing Doja to Kendrick

Stfu & go back to making twerk anthems, that's all you female "rappers" are good for nowadays anyway.

I’m glad I saw this lmao this is probably the wildest post in this thread

  • Aight bet glad you accept you taking an L here and resorting to the usual NY slander. Calling a Muslim Holy City dusty is also wild but that ain't my problem.

And that suddenly means Black Muslims no longer exist...? Black Muslims don't face Mecca when they pray?

Black Muslim culture exists obviously, no one said they did not. Muslims are 9% of nyc, black Muslims less than that. What's that got to do with all the old cacs and non Muslims using it when calling Knicks games?

  • Jun 19, 2023

If anything, shouldn't it be offensive that people are using the most high and the holiest place to talk about basketball?

You literally said NYers are stealing a culture. I'm saying how is that possible when Black Muslims exist and live in the city? The f*** does Dearborn, MI have to do with that? What does the percentage of Black Muslims in NY change anything about Black Muslims existing and praying to Mecca?

Post a picture of ya your hand or shut up bruh. Especially with you tryna bring up that s*** regarding basketball cause you and I both know you don't actually give a s*** about that and you desperately tryna be funny and failing miserably at it.

I'm about a dollar who the f is 50 cents was the general NY attitude to 50 until about 02. You know NY picks jay over 50

Every NY rapper hated how to rob

50 had a deal and a whole album out that didn't do anything pre mixtapes(because NY hated). Idc what he did on canal street because those tapes were bigger than NY and that's my point

Again this is false. You not from the city. Stop tryna speak on something you don't even know.

NY rappers had beef with 50 for How To Rob, but that literally had no impact on the people in NY who were still f***ing with him heavy.

Seeing as how I'm Black, from NY, and have studied Islam since childhood, I'm more okay with the city acknowledging that Mecca is a holy city even if they are using it as a nickname for a historical landmark than some Mexican dork on a forum tryna tell me what I should and shouldn't be offended by when they been steady talking s*** about my city and tryna pretend like they actually give a f*** about Islam.

isn’t Mecca commonly used synonymously with something that’s considered highly esteemed or essentially royal?

i get the sentiment but i think it’s a bit misplaced lol, i don’t think a word being used primarily for heaping praise on something is necessarily bad, appropriation sure (i guess?)

    ExpensiveOrNot

Most of the artists you featured are not worth listening to.

E-40 is the odd man out and even he constantly released bloated albums that have way too many mid songs to consider the album great.

Heck even thoug SchoolBoy Q is better than Kendrick I still never listen to him.

The rest of your list is just a bunch of people who are super niche and almost no one listens to any of them. And then some don’t make music anymore. (MC Hammer, Dr. Dre, Ice Cube)

The only real mentions here worth talking about are Dr. Dre, Ice Cube, MC Hammer, E-40, Tyler the Creator, Kendrick Lamar and Schoolboy Q.

How you forget to mention Nate Dogg idk because honestly I’ll take him over anyone you listed. Just goes to show west coast rap is not the best and it hardly ever was. West Coast rap is better when it’s smooth and grooving but it’s barely ever like that anymore.

These days west coast rap has no identity it just takes from older styles and copies/changes them a bit (to pimp a butterfly for example) or it copies current styles of hip hop (everyone loves to copy Travis Scott and Young Thug style these days and of course Drake)

The best artists in hip hop right now (not up for arguments)
    are

    Jay Z
    Nicki Minaj
    Eminem
    Drake
    Kanye
    Young Thug
    Travis Scott
    Nas
    Schoolboy Q

Almost none of these artists are “west-coast” and I only put schoolboy q there because it’s hard to deny his lyricism. If MF DOOM were still alive then he’d take one of the spots.

Leaving Snoop, Ice T and Eazy out of your "worth listening to" list

Y'all east coast dudes need to pay proper respects to the West lol Without the West, there is no telling if hip hop even exists right now. Late 80s/early 90s hip hop boom was because of the west. Dr. Dre, Snoop and Ice Cube ran rap from about 1989 to 1993/4. Nas, BIG, Pac etc.. all were inspired/influenced by the West. Nobody sold records before the stars from the West started going platinum. BIG was the guy to shift the attention back to the East Coast and it stayed there until the mid 2000s. But I still believe early 90s West Coast, specifically The Chronic, those first 3 Cube albums and Doggystyle--is peak hip hop in the history of rap.

No denying the West is going through a weak stage right now, but I'd argue that's one of the main reasons rap in general is going through its worse era ever right now. The east has always been overrated. The West and the South make the best hip hop imo
