I was referring to the "simply stop killing each other" part, which I agree with. The reasons why these rappers want to KILL each other be so dumb. It's never worth it.

At this point, on this earth, conflict of some form is a given. Of course, for some more than others, it’s nearly an inevitability. Unfortunately, our community seemingly falls in that category. We don’t need to get into a dialogue about poverty begot violence and Vice versa. If you’ve read any book on the subject in the past 50 years, you know what it is and you know what all the buzz words are. However, despite all of it, we are still tasked with surviving lmfao. As she said, it’s really not rocket science. Crabs in a barrel can only get out if they work together. Unfortunately, we waste a lot of time killing each other. Of course, it’s simple in theory but in practice, it’s nearly impossible at this point which is why I suggest nothing can be done. It’s like Amiri Baraka once said “who will survive in America, Few Americans, very few negroes, no crackers at all” it is what it is lol

she did tho she explicitly said how black men need to act like jews cos they dont harm each other cos they think they’re the chosen ones even tho they do harm each other for instance ethiopian jews in israel. it’s not easy to undo 100s of years of the us gov disenfranchising black people and to expect black people who ain’t even the largest minority in the US supposed to over come everyone else who hates them and helps to keep black suffering in place?

well unless the government is gonna willingly accept its part it played in the d*** war, provide trauma centres, schools, rehab clinics, jobs, affordable housing n leisure centres to help combat gang violence they created then it’s not gonna be easy to simply stop killing each other. u can say the same to ted bundy and he’d still do it

On a macro level, sure. The idea that the real battles that are resulting in deaths are tied to a battle for precious resources, resources that the government has stripped from the communities of these acts and that that has led to these deaths and coping mechanisms such as d**** is a sound one.

However, I cannot for the life of me extrapolate those aforementioned struggles to that of KILLING someone. It is indeed a macro issue that needs addressing. It is also a discipline issue.

In a literal sense, Rappers and black men alike, should be able to exercise enough discipline to not kill one another on the basis of b****es, money, d****, etc. I understand that they are products of their environment but I simply do not care enough to attribute their actions to said environment. Life is precious and handling it so callously shows a complete disregard of that.

i don’t think it’s the responsibility of people who were purposely put into those circumstances by the CIA regarding poverty n crime. telling a bunch of folks riddled with ptsd substance issues and trauma from racism to stop killing isn’t easy. these killings are mostly linked to socioeconomic reason not really personal per day

I truly do understand the vast factors that go into the development of these children into grown men and what comes with that. I get it. I have a degree in it.

It simply does not matter to me at the end of the day. Sure, there's an incredible amount of trauma that comes with the dire circumstances that fostered these rappers development. Sure there's a glass ceiling that's lurking over these black men, as they fight amongst each other to break it, I get it.

I just don't think that matters when it comes to LIFE AND DEATH. Death is finite. At some point, the responsibility of not killing someone falls on the individual. You have to take responsibility for your actions, and justifying gang members killing each other due to societal ills ain't it.

Should the government help create a more fruitful environment for niggaz? Yes

Does that justify them niggaz killing each other over b****es and gang ties? Hell nah.

i’m sorry but when the only money in your neighbourhood involves death what you expect. all this killing cant be at the fault of gangs when the US government purposely doesn’t do s*** to prevent it and in fact created this s*** on purpose to give black people a negative image in mainstream media. they purposely set this s*** up so a life of death and destruction only way to go. no amount of respectability politics from rappers and such will change s*** that’s obvi a national problem. it’s not these niggas fault they kill they been set up to do this

I didn't say ALL the killings can't be the fault of gangs and I also didn't absolve society and their place in these callous killings.

I'm simply saying that the individuals engaging in these B&E's, Killings, etc. also need to take some responsibility for their actions. I simply do not think having enough discipline to NOT KILL someone is too much to ask, and if that is too much to ask, then I simply don't agree with that at all.

Pretty much only a problem that the government can fix with a decade long re-investment and build up of low income communities.

that’s what i’m saying this problem escalated so much it’s not the personal responsibility of the gangs it’s the government who knows they can invest in poorer areas to reduce crime

But also has to be a cultural shift to address single parent households. If you remove the filters of age, race, s***and income, single parent households become the biggest predictor of crime
