The right has been poking and prodding at the institution for decades, but in recent years they have dropped all pretense and are now completely up front about their plans to dismantle democracy and embrace authoritarianism.
Every election we have for the foreseeable future will be the most important election of our lives.
The 2024 election will be the most important election in our lives.
Then, in 2026, that will be the most important election in our lives.
Then in 2028.....etc.
Because the very first time we take our foot off the gas and allow the GOP to grab a foothold, that will be it.

However based on seeing how other countries are falling suit too (including how Germany just elected a far right representation) and as well as what's going on in France, Italy, and of course Russia v. Ukraine. I wouldn't be surprised if a World War breaks out.
