"Artist needs to return to old sound" is always wrong, never right, stop it!
There is such thing as devolution. You can return to a sound and polish it. Not saying to remain the same.
DFMB easily his best
Before the heavy Kendrick influence
Even back then niggas said he sounded like Kendrick

By definition it's staying the same
I love all Keem stuff, but I do agree that Sound of Bad Habit is underappreciated !
Honestly prefer it to DFMB at this point
i think the worst thing to happen since this era is he decided to rap with a higher pitched squeaky cadence that's unbearably grating. he's always done this kind of like scratchy shouting thing, but he decided to tone it to sound more like the carti-ish voice (not saying he's biting, just the best comparison I can think of), and it makes most of his new music completely unlistenable to me. like listening to these tracks and then the stuff on melodic blue it's liked he tweaked his voice to be several pitches higher and it doesn't work at all with the type of rapping he does

South Africa is ridiculous
U want him to go back to that sound only for u to get tired of it and ask him to switch it up
South Africa is ridiculous
i actually wonder if he was pitching his voice down half an octave or something earlier on and he just stopped doing that. obviously the cadence is a contributing factor, but his voice just sounds way higher in general on recent stuff. it's really weird when you listen to the above tracks then listen to south africa or vent, it's like one of them was pitch shift
