eh, I can't say I'm mad at his perspective though.

You can be upset that he brought that viewpoint out into the mainstream. A lot of people resonated with that nigga, but I'm bias. I live close to Hebrew Israelites that preach....nonsense a few blocks away from me so I'm very much set in my "wtf is this s***" position on this issue lol.

I feel like following TPAB with an album full of self doubt, depression, and doubting your faith being angry at the world makes sense tbh

Even though TPAB was great and a lot of people liked it its always seemed to me like on a personal level Kendrick didn’t get the fulfillment he thought he would from it and that could drive you into a depression and the concept of feeling cursed and wondering what’s the point I don’t think is necessarily a bad view to ponder because I don’t think Kendrick was trying to frame it as that’s how we should view it, just showcasing the internal struggles and thoughts he was facing

The album doesn't even touch on anything israelites believe in like that, I think he was just saying that he wrestles with god which is what israelite stands for
Kendrick isn't an israelite and his cousin left that cult too

I always loved how DAMN. is literally depressing as f*** yet is his most mainstream album and most people dont even know the album is depressing i remember my homie was like “whys he flexing the whole album” like bro are u even listening to it

Fr kendrick really finessed. Whole album is like a therapy session but he figured out a way to make it slap.

but (and I do agree) one can argue, he was talking about self doubt, depression, and doubting your faith being angry at the world on TPAB as well.

Hell, he did it on GKMC too.

Yeah of course, but I always felt like TPAB was more about his struggles with the world and DAMN. was more about his struggles with himself and his beliefs

Yea when that hit me it changed my whole perspective on the album

The execution of the album and the concept adds another layer

One of the greatest mainstream albums oat
