J Cole didnāt use the time well in my opinion and drifted away from a concept he laid out in long Instagram post
It's an album. You play it over and over. I really don't see the problem. They should be as long as they need to be.

I said some concepts arenāt fully fleshed out and you said an album should be as long as it needs to be . This album jumps around some in tones and storytelling. I personally wish it fleshed some things out if you think itās perfect thatās cool stop quoting me

Itās an odd mix of radio like poppy rap with really dark material . 30 minute albums after 4-5 year waits for a tour just doesnāt work for most artist to me . Outside of like djs who can remix other songs too . This album would benefit from being longer and more focused on its concept . Not bad but just feels like something missing
I think what youāre missing is the feeling of wanting more. Some albums exhaust you, but the shorter ones with replay value slowly uncover details you didnāt even realize were there.

Oh yeah I got my same top on the album as last night itās partially again focus on the concept of casino and telling of his early life. As I said last night at moments he is just rattling off terrible things that happened to him when younger when I enjoy more the focused storytelling. The shift from an extremely dark song to talking his s*** Iād also sometimes jarring. Iām will continue to listen of course no rush for another album from him for me .

ā lied ā I said shorter albums in general I said 30 minutes wasnāt meant to be precise. I was referring to all shorter albums and songs . The album is still short and doesnāt fully develop concepts with many 2 minute or less songs. Itās a small gripe to you but I didnāt force you to respond to me .
