word. hiphop has an emotional connection to the music that is built from the artist welcoming you into their world in order to experience the music from a shared mindset or to get you to see the bigger picture of the message they are pushing within the music. that’s just good old regular promo man, there’s nothing overly deep about it or an argument that needs to be had. without it, the project you are about to get is for lack of better word, a mystery as the artist has been overly quiet lol. JID disappeared in the middle of his biggest hit and did one freestyle before finally popping out and doing traditional promo for his new album. he was being mysterious for nearly 2 years while Surround Sound was running tiktok until it was album time and he welcomed us back into his world and built the album for us by telling us the features, producers, themes, and what he’s been up to in his time away
