For context, I was a Carti hater up until like 2018 so I feel like I am being fair as f***. I think people gonna have the same reaction this album that I did to Die Lit.

Side note, Slay3r is one of the best songs this year

It’s so easy to hate an album initially, like especially someone like Carti. Dude has been polarizing since the jump and probably always will. Idk how you can listen to a song like Vamp Anthem though and be like “yeah this album is awful.”

I didn't like Carti as an artist. thought S/T was mid at best, and Die Lit was just okay.

he actually came through with evolving and finally pursued punk elements in his music with WLR. it's his best work, no question.

I'm convinced a lot of the initial backlash were folks that already hated Carti or were just following along with public opinion.
