Doing this just made me realize how few games I've completed since getting a PS4 over 5 years ago

Why do you even play video games, you hate everything Bloodborne 3 stars, RDR 2 1 star, Mario Odyssey 2 stars, Disco Elysium 3 stars

naw those are good scores
5 stars = 10/10 = personal classics
4 stars = 9/10 = personal classics
3 stars = 8/10 = great/would recommend
2 stars = 7/10 = good/worth a play
1 star = 1 to 6/10 = bad/average/above-average

This is a horrible scale, how tf can 1 star account for 1-6 Everyone understands that 5 stars = 10/10, 4 stars = 8/10, 3 stars = 6/10 etc

Because I have no interest in deciding if something is a 2/10 or a 3/10. They are both s*** either way.
Nobody else cares if I have a game at 2/10 or 3/10 either. That one point different means nothing. The only point of interest is that I don't like it, and that information is easily conveyed if my 1 star represents all degrees of "not good."

playing dmc series rn and im almost finished with the first one
RDR2 overrated tbh
Overrated in the way that it’s definitely not the “best story of all time” but it is still a fantastic and imo a 10/10 game

Absolutely I'm not saying it isn't a great game just not on the level that some critics put it on IMO
RDR2 overrated tbh
the open world immersion is the best ive ever seen in a video game
used to type lil writeups in the last game you played thread but i guess i'll move em to this thread.
finished DMC 1 about a month ago or so and castlevania chronicles yesterday.
dmc 1 holds up pretty well visually and the aesthetics are hard, but thats where all praise ends for me story felt pretty barebones. i didn't get much out of it besides dante being the son of a demon and trish being a clone of his mother or something like that. gameplay was ok for its time, nothing really groundbreaking. the lack of blocking was kinda strange to me cause im used to games from tthis genre having that but i guess it was an artistic decision to not have it. i know this is a common thing with games from the genre but the prices for upgrades, etc are wayyy too f***ing steep, found having to upgrade anything useless cause of how pricey they were and i was still able to beat the game without much. hopefully this game gets resident evil treatment and get a remake fixing some of the issues it has.
2/5
pretty big fan of castlevania but i'm surprised i didn't play this game sooner. its essentially a remake of the first castlevania but with better graphics, controls, and soundtrack. game was fairly short but i still had a good time playing through this. i personally would say super castlevania 4 is a better remake of the first castlevania but this one is definitely worth a playthrough. also the soundtrack for this is stellar (expected for castlevania games but still worth mentioning)
4/5
thinking about playing sonic frontiers next but im not sure yet

started this the other day and off first impressions the open world part looks really dull. im used to sonic games being very colorful and looking visually appealing but this looks bleh. almost like one of those 4K sonic fangames made on unity.
the regular stages looks a bit better than it but not by a lot. the music is good so far but thats to be expected
beat max payne 1 for the first time. super fun game, the movement and gunplay felt pretty fluid and didn't aged poorly at all. the comic book style storytelling was a nice touch albeit it did look goofy sometimes lol.
