”I don’t want to leave YouTube behind. I immensely enjoy the work I’ve done there, and I feel creatively fulfilled by it in a way that’s proportional to what I’ve done with this film. I personally think there’s merits, because there’s a lot of projects that I just could never do outside of YouTube, or outside of a more free-form internet multimedia container. So I wouldn’t limit myself just to one spot, but I do think it’s a way of saying that I’ve got a bit of a good thing going right now that I want to utilize with the energy and positivity around this film."
For people who are into it, I’ve got a contract, and I got a hold at my end, and that means I am definitely not done with 'Backrooms'"
So Kane signed a contract with A24 to keep making Backrooms films

I thought this was alright. I think they nailed the aesthetics, the mood, and the music. I also enjoyed most of the acting but it loses me at the story.
movie was very open ended so makes sense
"looking for a screenwriting collaborator" is the best possible news they could've released with this information

Yep. Glad he's asking for help. Could really make the next one go above and beyond
Sounds like Kane wants to move on from the screenwriter who wrote the first one
having no prior knowledge of the lore, this was a banger.
it's funny seeing some of the comments on reddit (i will assume they're literal kids/teens) misunderstanding what was a pretty spelled out plot/theme(s).
i had no issues with the story, as i think that's as good as you could have done given the nature of the backrooms themselves. it wasn't too much, but also not too little.
Booring
I don’t understand why y’all are hyped about seeing a Christmas tree lit up in a dark room. Spooooooky.
Have some standards.
Legit most boring concept for a movie I think I’ve ever seen
The set design and cinematography is what sold most people in the trailer and now I realize why the trailers were so vague. The script was pretty much non existent. Take away the lore and this movie falls flat as a concept.
This story takes place before some of his previous YouTube videos. So the captain Clark monster is the first of many.
Wow.
