That music can age. Art doesn’t age. You age and you apply different context that comes with your age to it rather than engaging with it as it exists.

    We Didnt Like That

Sounds like it just didn't resonate with you like it did for most people, hence it's popularity.

It's all subjective but definitely a classic for me. You should listen again. His best intro, his best deep cuts, best pop hits and best outro

It’s a messy album where he settled a lot, couldn’t focus on a sound because he wanted to please all fans.

All the dancehall songs aged badly because the trend died quick.

All the “Drake”-ish songs, some of them are good but mostly earlier albums did it better.

The reason this is more popular than TC and NWTS isn’t because it’s better, it’s because Drake has grown in popularity.

2015 was huge for him he won the Meek Beef, released Hotline Bling, dated Rihanna, did an Apple Music deal, came off two successful mixtape.

Any album that he would release afterwards would be successful unless he went completely left field. Instead he went the safest route and we got this.

I used to like Views back in the day (was a Drake stan) but there’s nothing truly exceptional about it, if this is a classic rap album then it’s easily the worst classic.

how do u feel about artists like juice wrld or xxx

I don’t think XXX was a genius like some fans say, I think he had an interesting range of songs and some of his rock songs are actually good (Revenge, Depression & Obsessions) but he also had a lot of bad / unfinished songs.

In his case it feels more genuine because he mostly likely listened to rock and metal. Lil Wayne admitted that he only listens to his own music in recent years. Rebirth sounds and feels label curated. Take the guitars and rock-ish vocals out and all these songs are written and composed like the most bubblegum pop songs. He’s singing about dating the hottest chick in school or whatever Da Da Da is.

Juice was brilliant, I think he was really talented, I didn’t hear him do a lot of rock songs except Ring Ring (would be better without “Clever”), but instead pop punk and emo inspired rap songs. There were really good, felt genuine and part of his personality, his subject matter fits his influences and he sings much better than the other two. No brainer here. Also he’s a self admitted pop punk fan (pretty sure he said he likes some bands, although he did say Lil Wayne too).

You not listened to Free TC or Sign Language?

Free TC cool. Definitely not great. Never heard sign language

  • “Rap” fans calling anything that’s not turn up music, opp music or calling women b****es every few seconds boring.

  • DaBaby got the same flow. That narrative alone let me know people just playing monkey see monkey do cause mans don switched it up a few times.

I mean his whole career is pretty much in homage to him it’s not like he tries to be sneaky about it

People will listen to Igor’s Theme and say that it’s just Tyler trying to sound like Pharrell. Not true.
