Gunn tried to tell everyone in February there were no updates on this film coming until after The Batman at least, so what does it even matter if merger causes a limbo or not for this film?

There have been no new titles announced by WB at all since the legal challenges began. Worth noting as basically every other major studio has since announced dates throughout 2028, including Disney/Marvel.
