It's a really weird complicated one here, but I think the guy's innocent of a crime, dirty old fella for sure, but not a criminal, I've got no skin in the game, but the timeline is this
Mother of teenager (now 20) goes to newspaper and says presenter paid their son for images, starting when they were 17, the teenager then used the money to fund a crack habit
Newspaper breaks story but is anonymous in referring to presenter, they don't want to libel anyone without all the facts
Speculation arises, pic of Huw Edwards with his ass out appears on social media, people agree that it's gotta be him, surprising as he's a devoutly religious family man
Newspaper continues pushing the story, still doesn't name the presenter, but no longer mentions the teenager being underaged
Young person's lawyers say the mother is lying, and that nothing inappropriate took place
The London police finish investigation and conclude that no actual crime took place, the BBC take no further action, and Edwards' wife officially names him as the guy, saying he's in care at a local hospital due to the stress of the whole thing
From what I can see, it looks like a closeted man paid for legal p***ography, for the record, the island is crawling with pedos and historical cover-ups are all over the place, but this guy genuinely seems to be innocent, still shouldn't have gone behind his wife's back like that though

Even today you can go to certain streets at night that are specifically the "territory" of UK's male prostitutes, many of which start working those streets at 14 and 15 years old. Back in the 90s and 80s it was even more prevalent.
The UK has just as many male prostitutes, young men on the street, as America, a country about 40x its size. They even have their own slang for young male prostitutes thats been commonly thrown around since the 80s and comes up in british film/tv shows: "rentboy"
