Da f*** Im not gonna deprive myself of some the best music oat because i can't separate the music from the dude himself lmao
I mean....
I think the last time I actively listened to R Kelly was when Love Letter was on the radio. The album of the same name was also the last truly outstanding album from him. Wore all his musical influences on his sleeve from Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Michael Jackson, Sam Cooke, Donny Hathaway, and a slew of others. It was a very good album, and one of the things that just piss me off so much about dude.
Having that much talent, that great of songwriting and singing ability, and throwing it all away just to be f***ing disgusting and so blatantly predatory. Damn shame.
Yea I ain’t gonna cap. I found myself listening to R Kelly nonstop like 2 weeks ago. You can’t deny the music. Randomly listened to Sparkle - Better Be Careful, then went through damn near R. Kelly’s entire catalog

The issue is that those songs are most likely inspired by 14 year old girls
Im all for separating the music from the artist but you cant really do that with r kelly. “My mind’s telling me no but my body’s telling me yes” could easily be some pedophile s*** lol. So yea im done with him

I can easily do it, the lyrics for me and I don't think about why he wrote them or him in general lol
I stopped for a long time when the documentary came out. Just didn’t feel right. Then someone made an Usher vs R Kelly thread
and I started listening again. Then the story about him making some girl eat s*** came out and I stopped for a bit again.
