I didn't care for too much when he dropped Owl Pharaoh

I loved Astroworld. it just seems like every feature and every single since then has been so phoned in. I'm glad he's successful but his quality of music has been really low since Astroworld dropped

He has an amazing discog
But i do have to say dbr, rodeo and even birds have way more replay value than astro while i thought that was an undeniable classic when it dropped

for me on a personal level I just really couldn’t fw how he was stealing beats on the way up but music wise I think he hasn’t gotten better or worse. I think that’s only bc he hasn’t prod on stuff like he used to but the ability is still there.

for someone who kind of fell out till astroworld I could say it was possibly bc where the style of prod was going ? like op > dbr > rodeo all sound like sonic progressions but he hadn’t been as famous until he made birds, which for me wasn’t up to par prod wise like his past projects, knowing that & fans knowing he could prod something interesting made it more confusing to why he wasn’t till astroworld.

Honestly that’s obviously what it is for a ton of people. I’m not even a fan of his music but they can’t even articulate why exactly his earlier stuff is so much better. They’ll be like “he’s corny now” which is like this cop out response to basically stand in for the fact you’re just embarrassed by his fans. I’ve seen the same thing happen with Denzel Curry, Rocky, and even Kendrick.

Days Before Rodeo and Rodeo s*** on Birds and ASTROWORLD so I believe it has more to do with the quality. You got to improve and evolve as a artist and in this case he went backwards

Personally I can’t fw him trying to cater towards young kids so much. DBR / Rodeo / Birds (kinda) era the whole “make that s*** dark” actually fit. Nowadays with the Fortnite / Mcdonalds collab his whole image feels forced.
