i mean even if he was genuinely malicious that wouldn’t be a reason to not listen to the music. there’s nothing an artist can do to diminish the quality and importance of their prior work. separate the art from the artist is the big brain move. all their personal life does is add to the interesting legacy you can read about outside of their work if you’re interested or to help gain some additional understanding or context of it. it never takes away from their greatness. it surely never did when we talked about novels in english class
