This just makes me cry and dream hard.
takes me back to simpler times
The entire album is just incredible. Pure Chicago through and through.
Need Kanye and Common on a track together again.

makes me wonder how different (good or bad) things would have turned out if Dilla had gotten to produce half the album like it was originally intended
im not from chi city but im
COMMON around the corner

It would've definitely been a great album still, but I think Common and Ye had a special connection. They were both in a big crossroads in their life at that point, and you could tell they were on the perfect wavelength during Be.
This interview goes over it a little more.
this song is incredible
one of my favorite hip-hop album intros of all time...just the instrumental build up to when the beat finally drops and Common starts spittin
that "land of the frozen sun, where drunk nights get remembered more than sober ones" line is so f***ing hard

I feel the same, love the build up and the beat drop Ye snapped on the production and common came in spitting
I love the opening lines "I wanna be free as the spirits of those who left...", its so hard to me lmao. The frozen sun bar is dope as hell
James Poyser is the most underrated producer of all time, not tryna undermine what Kanye did tho but he deserves a lot of credit for this song and this album as a whole
