This album came out at a weird point in my life. Not bad, just weird compared to where I'm at now.
Lots of memories attached to this 2015 era.
This is the one, after KISSLAND's reception, the OG's didn't flinch and loved it, but it didn't "adapt" right?....if you were there you know.
no more japan, and time for a major fork in the road
In which souls had to be sold in temporary deals with the devil.
Instead of choosing why not take both paths?
The ever expanding dark r&b genre still ever expanding with the most unlikely radio smash hit ever in "Mood Music/The Hills"

the (inspired from above show) scream that gives me goosebumps to this day live, that leads to that absolute insane beatdrop that rivals things along the lines of
KoRn's BLIND at 99' woodstock,
every. single. f***ing. time...

and then "I Can't Feel My Face"
..... a song that is completely opposite but everyone and i mean everyone, could dance to and enjoy ~ while the undertones of "Talking 'bout a face numbing off a bag of blow"
(BELOW IS FROM AN OLD POST, THAT REMAINS ON KTT)
Beauty Behind the Madness
Stage of Pain and Guilt
Rather it be past regrets or selling your soul to Rick Wilder (the devil…a metaphor for being a successful musician in this day in ages of entertainment industry)
it begins with “Real Life”
“mama called me destructive, said it'd ruin me one day...”
“Better off when i’m alone”
“I’m not allowed to regret my choices”
original fans might know this album was almost called “Manic Phase" - a name used currently by XO
dropx came to Kate with a concept and it was nearly finished then they polished it for release

then nearly dubbed “Inside our Dangerously Empty Lives"
with the Lana Del Rey feature on Prisoner originally finishing out the Album instead he chose and had theoretical “Faith”
due to everything that was going on at the time:

In the closing song which ended up being being Abel’s “favorite” once it was nearly finished dubbed
“ Angel “
Which relates to basically an old quote of
“ if you truly something, set it free.
if it comes back, it’s yours.
If it doesn’t, it never was.”

(big shoutout also to maty - her voice was so f***ing good on this record, I have a video of her singing the angel demo in her studio somewhere also)
And that chapter leads to:
STARBOY "
that comes from a post about how the albums related to stages of grief,
nearly 4 years ago or so now- it was short and simple while trying to cover basics and a lot of moving parts, the post was quite a while before DAWN FM had came out and anyone knew what hurry up tomorrow was and focused on how the 7th stage is acceptance.
that being said, that all comes back around pretty heavy hitting,
if you've been to a show this tour or paid attention at the very least of the artistic direction the last decade.
happy thursday and 10 years of madness.
