Mannie was instrumental in helping develop Wayne up until C1. They are often forgotten as a great rapper/producer combo that had great chemistry together. Personally, I don’t think they are appreciated enough together as a duo. I am aware that Wayne having such a spike in his career after Mannie may have something to do with that. Also, Mannie being the go to producer for all of Cash Money takes away from the connection he had with Wayne. However, it’s no coincidence the biggest records from that era of Cash Money were often Mannie and Wayne being involved. Wayne had a very successful career still before becoming the best rapper alive. A huge part of that is because of Mannie Fresh.
Wayne and Mannie weren’t even a duo, by Carter 2 they cut ties
Mannie was a Hot boys producer and made classics with them , Wayne wasn’t solo then
Mannie had classic solo albums with Juvi and BG
mannie is under appreciated all the way around imo. some of the best and craziest beats ive ever heard were on those hot boys and big timers albums. a lot of my favorite wayne songs and verses are from '97-'00
i will say that by the point mannie and wayne started getting really big is because bg & juve had left cmr around that time. wayne had to go even harder and had something to prove
diidn't 40 die? either way there was never any question about wayne n mannie and nobody forget about that
You could have made this thread without mentioning Drake
I just mentioned him the title. You acting like their careers aren’t connected in any way lol

I wouldn’t say cut ties, considering Mannie Fresh was in C3, C5, Tha Funeral and a few of his mixtapes since then.
Wayne just wanted to work with different producers. It happens.

I agree with all that.
Tha Block Is Hot is like a hood classic that doesn’t get enough love, Wayne had a solid career at this point.
