Aight y’all are dragging it now
I understood the argument against Ian since he’s cosplaying as a trap rapper
But Tommy Richman at least has his own sound and authentically himself
I thought he was Brent’s white guy avatar, especially when Brent himself started saying he was retired right before Tommy blew up
unlike most of todays hacks, he's a young artist who actually has a fresh sound. People hate novelty in our nostalgia infested culture
Bruh his sound is purely nostalgic
It sounds good but lets be real

I mean I won’t come off as if I’ve heard all of his music so point me to the songs that don’t fit in this box.. but the most I’ve heard of his sound is that it’s influenced by the Neptunes. And if that’s the case he would fit in that same lane of the artist you mentioned
Everybody ever is influenced by someone else. But the thing about Tommy is that he blends it with his own sound that makes it sound very modern and fresh. Songs like Selfish or Million Dollar Baby do have clear sounds from the past you can trace the influence to but at the same time there isn't anything out there that actually sounds like those tracks because of how they're executed as far as songwriting goes.
Whereas for most artists today, it does just sound like they're copying somebody else and doing little else.
realest thing joes said as of late
genuinely what problem do you have with tommy richman’s music. y’all act like he’s ian or something and it’s just perplexing
