Was just thinking about the fact that a lot of artists break out in their teens and at this point they're a decade younger than me.

Most of my favorite artists are older than me and I think the generation difference plays a part here, when they're older it feels like I can take more from their music. At the same time you have albums like Illmatic and Finally Rich which were recorded when the artists were in their teens but I have no problem listening to those.

It's mostly new youth with new music. I can imagine liking that music but not necessarily being a fan.

Share your thoughts and your favorite artists under 20 (if there are). I don't think I have any, unless someone is younger than I thought.

Liking the music/going to shows is cool at any age. I do think being overly fanned out about somebody significantly younger than you is kinda goofy i.e. buying merch and stuff but ultimately who cares

music does not need to be relatable for it to be good or listenable imo

def makes it easier to connect to tho but not necessary at least for me
