Energy matters, though. The lazy flow only works in certain instances and Drake relies too much on it these days (luckily he did do that on CLB and he came with energy on most on the rap songs) so when rappers who never rap with that kind of energy rap with him, their energy is way more than his and even if their lines are weaker, it'll be a more enjoyable listen. I feel that way about Wayne's verse on You Only Live Twice. He isn't saying s*** in the verse but his energy >>>> Drake and Ross' energy on the song.

He likes the lazy flow too much, idk. It takes a lot to get Drake to rap with some energy these days and that never used to be the case. Even on songs with really tough beats, Drake will elect to use the lazy flow. I really don't get it but it's whatever.

I actually don't mind that flow. It's effortless imo but then he went hard on Smiley's track and not as hard on this with a better rapper, but I don't mind it.

I'd be keen to pick his brain on why he chooses certain flows which could have utilised other flows.

I just think he should save the lazy flow for when he's on songs by himself because then the energy is consistent throughout the song. But when you're on songs with other people who can really rap, you have to match their energy or else the whole song just seems uneven and that's exactly what this song sounds like. It sounds like Drake is sleeping through his verse and then Benny comes in with a whole different energy (one that the song actually needed). S*** like that is what will make everyone say you got killed on a track even if your bars are better. I don't think Drake's bars on the song are weak but Benny definitely has the better verse imo. It's not even debatable.

This the first time Drake’s lazy flow bothered me specifically in the beginning but he smoked that verse.
