Most folks that are "depressed" just have no goals or are lazy. Thinking taking some LSD or meditating will help that? well its not. Meditating can help only if you actually have a goal in life. We as humans need purpose wether it's a career, relationship, etc. If you spend your time laying around masturbating and on social media, you will be depressed. Nothing matters so the universe will not give you meaning, we're here to give ourselves meaning. Once you find a purpose and good work ethic, you gon be outta here. Get rid of the self sabotage and the subconscious blocks. Use your inner God and manifest anything you want but you gotta want something

where is he saying that meditation and d**** are the holistic answer? all he said is that these things can help obviously they are far from the key

i consider myself a spiritual person, take psychedelics intermittently and meditate, read up on a lot of spiritual philosophy and wisdom to allow me to come to terms with my personal experiences and understand the world beyond in general, i also still struggle with depression anxiety and co etc.

i think this whole cloud around their being a cure-all for depression has to go, depression oftentimes never leaves people, it is a constant state and there's things that people can do to ease and assuage it, what he's saying is a s*** ton more practical than whatever this New Age-esque spiel you're going on about talking about "manifesting anything" and "inner God"

and i don't understand how you're familiar with Hinduism yet somehow not familiar with their relationship with d****, particularly psychedelics and weed my dude

There is definitely more to it, but not having a goal in life definitely is the case for a lot of people with depression.

You just told folks to do d**** to combat laziness lmfao. Meditation only helps if you got something to work towards. I can meditate all day but it doesn't mean anything if i got nothing to do in the physical world

that's not how meditation works at all, what have you even read?

them sages and mystics weren't meditating towards s***, meditation is about letting go and getting rid of attachments, pure witness consciousness, you can't be pure observer if you have a goal as to why you're meditating in the first place, that's strictly a Western b******ization

Meditation does not work for me

After meditation I cannot help but notice my breathing every single inhale and exhale. That s*** makes me anxious as f***.

After meditation I do feel calmer tho, but the breathing that I notice after it really sucks.

I’m talking about people who claim they are depressed. I went deeper into how truly damaged people can heal in my other posts bro

I’m not saying what meditation is . I’m saying how it can benefit you. Also I don’t look at enlightenment the same way the ancients did. They saw enlightenment as detachment of the physical and embracing the spritiual. I see it as embracing the physical world and living in the moment.

I’m actually against new age spirituality. I just feel that things such as psychedelics or a spiritual journey can be a waste of time. If it helped you, great. But in my experience, I found true peace by looking within and confronting my darkest thoughts. As you said there are constant ups and downs, you will always live in a loop if you don’t do the inner work

my life improved in general (social circle, money, women) but i'm still sad and depressed, i'm not depressed like I used to but s*** is crazy

    1. Find a hobby.
    2. Get a journal.
    3. Work out/ Eat Better
    4. Go out to public settings even if you are by yourself.
    5. Create a schedule for yourself.
    6. Avoid negative situations and interactions.
    7. Cut down on social media.
    8. Do good by others. Can be as simple as opening a door or complimenting someone shoes, etc.

I've been pretty depressed on and off since I was a teenager and these are some things that I've adapted pretty much in the last 2-3 years and seen improvements. I think the best overall message is to keep yourself busy and occupied. Have a space for yourself to vent and not let your thoughts linger on. Simple things like going to the gym and eating better allow you to see physical change that can in turn translate towards a change emotionally/mentally.

I still have my days where I feel terrible. Overcoming loneliness is my biggest hurdle. For example, I've been living in new state for about a year and have no friends which really gets to me at times. But keeping a schedule and having a hobby keeps me at bay.

We could give you the best advice in the world and it won’t matter if you’re not ready for it

A big part of healing and working through mental health issues is understanding it’s a journey and takes work. And there’s no real end to that journey, it constantly evolves as you get older. Mental health isn’t linear, there’s no cure you just find better ways to cope and understand yourself. You can be in the hole and ask for help, but you won’t really be able to start working on it until you accept the help given and start helping yourself

If you do go to therapy: please don’t lie to your therapist. You’re doing yourself a disservice. Think of that space as a place where you can actually be fully transparent and actually receive help.

Also know that finding a GOOD counselor is trial and error. If you don’t click with a counselor, do not hesitate to stop seeing them and try someone else.
