God I hate this music so much

man do i love streaming, but i hate how it took away the ubiquity of a hit song. everything is so individualized and niche now because of the accessibility we have, but I miss when there was 3-4 songs that ruled the country and were EVERYWHERE. tiktok has brought this back a bit, but a lot of times it’s just some random alternative song that was popular within a niche community 10 years ago. We need to bring back pop music.

im really into the idea of "pop perfection", production, and songwriting.

this era was pop maximalism in scope of sound. maximum club vibes. the stuff that aged poorly aged REALLY poorly, but the gems remain all time classics. this was the music that was needed in an economic recession kicked off mainly by black eyed peas the End era
