I think it does. Been over 6+ years since I watched it.

I just remember him being all depressed and nihilistic, resigned to his fate. Then he meets shorty and it changes his perspective on life. The way it happens had me choked up from what I remember

Movie was good asf bro. Expect nothing less from A24 at this point honestly.

Won't lie though, definitely found the first half when he was discovering his ability, and trying to win the girl way more intriguing vs. the second half. Not that I minded the second half, but felt like the story kinda settled in; there wasn't as much conflict as I expected. Not that I minded though, I enjoyed the relaxed vibes too.
