Cube has become criminally underrated and I've had enough of it top 10 bare minimum, probably top 5. Nobody had it like Cube had it in the early 90s. I always see people debating Ye albums, Jay albums, Outkast, Dre etc... Cube debate better than all of those except maybe Ye and Kast. 3.5 straight classics to start his solo career. Arguably the greatest beef rapper ever. Can go toe to toe with any NYC cat from that era. Show some respect to the West coast GOAT
I'd probably go The Predator cause it has a handful of my favorite Cube tracks, but its close.
Ice Cube dropped 3 classics in a row but because he made Are We There Yet he isn’t given the respect he deserves

lol fr his movie career had a negative effect on his music
Death Certificate or The Predator. But probably Death Certificate. He is underrated af. Especially considering how conscious he was early on. Pac gets a lot of credit for being conscious. Public Enemy, too. But Cube was just as socially conscious early on
I still love his debut the most tbh.
Edit: Part of it is because my Dad used to play that album the most when I would spend weekends with him.
It don't get talked about enough, but War & Peace Vol.1 (the War Disc) is severely underrated. It's a great album in my opinion.

Yea that album is slept on fr. Few songs on there should be way more famous. Honestly, after Friday it seemed like people moved him into the Will Smith category of "he's an actor who also raps" and that continued all the way to the present day lol hell after Boyz N Da Hood he was already battling the stigma "movie star! f*** you!" "i make dough, but don't call me doughboy.."
I remember really enjoying LNCF and Raw Footage for what they were in 06 and 08 too. First four are classics tho.

Cube would spit some super conscious s*** in the middle of a viscous song lol he was incredible. Much more than a gangsta rapper

Surprised to see you being the first to say it itt. My brother who was around at the time swears thats the most underrated rap album ever lol

Black Korea couldn't be made today lol
Black Korea couldn't be made today lol
lol his first few albums couldn't tbh but he was doubling down and not apologizing in the media lmaooo rap was just crazy back then
See, if this was a thread about any of the artist I mentioned in OP s*** would be at least 2 pages by now lol Most people haven't even heard Cube's first albums tbh might be the most underrated ever imo
Probably say his debut but his entire 90-94 run is golden which might not seem like long but he dropped a s*** ton of music in that time
His first 2 albums are classics
Been listening to a lot of cube in the gym lately, and it’s defiantly either death certificate or amerikka’s most wanted
I like The Predator most but all three are really good and those Bomb Squad beats on AMW are top notch
Death Certificate is great because the bars are just all-out nuts, I was thinking about that recently. The purest intersection of woke and crass

That last sentence captures it just about right
Currently listening to Death Certificate Cube's flow and delivery/pronunciation is just unique. You can understand everything he says perfectly.
Swear you posted Endangered Species itt but now I don't see it lol That intro alone makes the song a classic already
