I’m planning on ordering the console online when they launch preorders and am just wondering, for anyone who gets pre orders, which online retailer actually delivers on release date? I’ve heard of amazon and Best Buy orders arriving a few days after release date so idk I may do GameStop instead. Bad idea or good idea?
Never got a console on release day before so can't speak to it, but in terms of video games 90% sure I've always gotten pre orders on release day with amazon.

If you want a launch console yes you do if you don’t want to deal with scalpers
Depends on how you wanna go about it. Not sure about online because the only console I ordered online at launch was a switch and I had to cop for 100$ more because they were sold out and bought someone else’s pre order. Irl I go to gamestop but depending on where you live always go to console releases with the homies or at least take a strap

Why
Why
Launch consoles are hell to find within the first few months. If you don’t want to wait 6 months possibly to get one day 1 is the way to go. I knew people who couldn’t find Ps4s almost a year after launch

Its an old fashioned Nintendo practice that has been done since the NES. Make enough for demand but only put out a certain amount thats under the demand, increasing the interest and selling more units overall. THey'll put out a bunch but they'll sell out nonetheless and restocks will be vauge until the first year or so is over
