Another problem besides the list itself is that THESE are names we have available for recency bias. Talented folks but against the legends they shouldn’t be in front of, the gap is glaring. This has been the best r&b has to offer as of late? Sad story in the bigger picture, nice tunes in the moment
The actual list says best 75 R&B ARTISTS, not singers, so #1 has to be Stevie or Prince.
Sam Cooke being high on these R&B lists is the R&B equivalent of NBA lists being required to have Bill Russell/Wilt/Oscar Robertson high @Camille @Hndrxx_Free
didnt even know that nigga existed
just like most 60s nba players
First of all.
R. Kelly above Marvin Gaye.
MJ above Prince.
Man, LMFAO.
R. Kelly number 1 tbh
R. Kelly number 1 tbh
He's talented as a vocalist, but not nearly as much as, say, Minnie Riperton, Prince, Marvin Gaye, or Stevie Wonder, wtf.

I thought we was talking about music catalogs

If we talking music catalogs then R Kelly sure as f*** ain't coming close to Prince, Marvin, or Stevie.

Maybe not but he’s ranked about Minnie Riperton
This list is so wrong..
Sometimes I wish D’Angelo released more music and was kinda “out there” more. They lucky he’s a recluse and only releases music once every 15 years.
I think by a couple objective metrics you have to say Michael is the better singer, but if you wanna talk strictly R&B, I guess that is moreso Stevies lane
'I think by a couple objective metrics you have to say Michael is the better singer' - what metrics are those? If we're comparing their vocal prime, Stevie had a lot more control, acuity and support throughout his entire range, lows, mids and high.. MJ had a great range in falsetto and could phrase in the 5th octave, but he had a very unbalanced voice and it wasn't well supported, which is why he suffered from so many pitch/breath issues in his adult years. Stevie's jazz/soul/Gospel stylings vocally were a lot more proficient than MJ, who truly shined in the studio vocally with his layering/aarrangements..
NIGGA WHERE IS SADE??
I don’t see Ronald Isley either did they not include bands
