mostly Anita Pallenberg having a fantastic presence that overrides her weak acting skills.
there being a great portrayal of a generation.
it being influenced by the French New Wave. Especially in focusing on that aimlessness that is also present in many films of that day.
German film being mostly s*** nowadays due to Til Schweiger dominating (that "bear jew" from Inglorious Basterds. He is a giant movie star here. With arguably the worst comedies reflecting the worst tendencies of the German Zeitgeist). Schlöndorff being one of the real ones for this film.

I think I'm going to check it out. You should check out those other ones I named if you haven't they were excellent and I never get to recommend things to you cause youve seen everything. Torliss like a German 400 Blows and Sudden Wealth has an incredible sense of movement for a tv movie.

there are plenty of good-great Great German films but the vast majority is trash. There are fundamental structural problems lying beneath that. Mostly what filmmakers get funding (cringey conservative comedy that is very successful) and what is generally supported because of weird cultural norms.
No. Never heard of Brohmans tbh

That’s what that’s called. I learn something new everyday in this thread whenever I enter fam. Thx for that. That sound is for sure one of my favourites and I can’t get enough of those vibes.

I wish Bach could've heard where Hendrix took the instrument on Burning Of The Midnight Lamp

Fourth Time Around or Visions Of Johanna gets my vote due my Dylan fanboyism
Stuck Inside Of Mobile is up there too
Blonde On Blonde got more turn ups than Rodeo, Carter III, and Without Warning combined

Organ, piano, Bob's vocal, the crisp drums, and the melody frenchkiss. The verses flow into that cascade of a chorus.
Off-Topic: I know I love my hot takes, but i genuinely prefer Desire over BOTT and i don't think it's that much of a reach

exactly
Nah I don't f*** with Desire too much
feel like most of those songs are the opposite of growers whereas BOTT is jam packed with flawless gems that just keep getting more and more immaculate to me.

So dylans my goat and his tour was easily the best that year but ive been debating giving it to the 13th Floor Elevators debut for being a more concise, unique, wild burst of creativity. Heard it?
also strong hm for Yardbirds Roger The Engineer
