    uncanny how much it sounds like Grandmaster Flash etc though. this the actual proto.

    all that generation had to go on was Pigmeat, Last Poets, Gil Scott and Rudy Ray Moore primarily

    certain funk songs were "rapped" too

    Slow year for big country stars (that's about the time George Jones turned into Donald Duck, right?), but there's "That's How I Got to Memphis" and Jim Ford's debut in 69... watch it as Elric leaves these songs out and give "Sugar, Sugar" the number 1 song of tha year.

    Bro's on a boy band payroll.

    But tbh those boys were so good this year they didn't even think gems like this warranted release. In the vault for years.

    used apple music for release date. If something ovious is missing than AM didnt post the release date and its in the void of yearless music at the bottom of my library

    loose ranking kinda (as always, just based off my fav songs from my fav albums, would obviously be missing most loosies or singles)

    many albums i never got around to when i was on the 60s grind :/ oh well

    got a theory that Elvis finally stopped sucking s*** this year and got his groove back because he was feeling himself so much on this old Rodgers and Hammerstein gem @twinkletoez @elvis

    which i also claimed Conway heavily influenced Roy Orbison with when he came out with it in '58
