F*** no
felt like I was dying at the 12 minute mark
That dread intro and 7:40 spasm gave me high hopes but no

I thought that's what the Velvet Underground were doing
Red Krayola too. probably everybody assumed there was lots of wild free jazz racket getting made at any given time over the decade that would make rock and rollers shrivel into their Cuban heeled boots.

yes true but VU and krayola still sound like kids doing it, for lack of a better term. not that the approach is a bad or inferior thing at all, just hits in the opposite way when its a 40 year old knowingly months away from death vs. young genius musicians debuting with bursts of inspiration and creativity. party music vs death music
like artists starting out as young and wild and later getting more refined vs. the reverse of artists that started out more normal or beautiful seeing total chaos as the logical path. both fascinating

True. Shoutout to our boys Ray and Frank for also rejecting flower power at its height (in their own dramatically different ways)
even at the height of British Invasion Ray was writing songs like Where Have All The Good Times Gone cause he was already sick of this s***.

im ready but moving on from the 60s already feels bittersweet
single era over
his voice fits the style pretty well and its also always good to see a rare country singer-pianist
i did wonder if he got any less Nashville-ified cuz i remember there being some slightly annoying backing vocals etc.
how you like these?

Know the reason why I live
Is there nothing you can show me
Life seems so little to give"

cant believe youre taking Spinetta over Richard Manuel @RVI
i cant decide which songs are the best off Big Pink but its crazy that its down to Tears/Released, both sung by Richard, or Station/Suzie which he wrote as well and stand just as tall as the Dylan songs
what a goat
