I mean they were still good but a monumental step down from the first 2 3bh
nae

they remained stellar imo
still would have been one of the best concerts to see in 1969
Doors most underrated song
!https://youtu.be/cwrJelMk5e4how are Hyancinth House and Waiting For The Sun rated? cause i think those are the best
imo we are no longer in the dust era but the timeless classic rock/soul/country era. Only the crustiest recordings sound firmly like it's the 60s anymore and anything recorded properly pretty much sounds like it could have been released yesterday.
I still need to do a ‘68 list

just did my 1934 list for films and as a comedy historian you have to see this crazy russian flick
truly unbelievable. made my top 5.

The Small Faces breaking up would have been tragic but man the b-side of the first Humble Pie single
Marriott was not slacking. this youtube quality very much not doing justice

dont get much higher praise then this @twinkletoez love Keith for shouting out Steve Marriott over Sabbath/Zeppelin/Who

Rod Stewart pulling triple duty with The Jeff Beck Group, Faces and solo classics
probably only Neil Young was successfully spreading himself so thin this year

Hyacinth House is underrated too, but WFTS is one of their most famous songs. There's this curious story about how WFTS is not on the album WFTS but on Morrison Hotel because they felt it was unfinished at the time.
Both amazing songs indeed though

Yeah weird they still called the album WFTS even though they never had time to finish the title track
confused me when I first got into them
@op pretty decent album so far. proggy af for this year. super embryonic for them but still can hear their sound
Yeah my first listen was enjoyable
Another year another embarrassing Doors album
the two actually great songs they recorded weren't even included

I used to think SP was their worst album but I've changed my mind to Morrison Hotel. IMO the only great songs in this one are Roadhouse Blues, WFTS (which wasn't even supposed to be there) and Peace Frog, all the rest are pretty forgettable. SP also got some points with me because it's one of their few albums which actually has an identity, that is cohesive, since most of their albums are a bunch of styles thrown together.

Yeah you might be right but it's just really off-putting to see such a tight rock and roll combo with this type of schmaltzy backing

Wonder who gave Krieger that black eye
