top 25 r&b @twinkletoez
year was an absolute funk onslaught
Sly ran laps around everybody except The Temps who were almost singlehandedly keeping Motown on the cutting edge (even though Eddie hated the Whitfield productions). Everybody else over there had one banger if that.

Can remember my pops reciting the gibberish Scottish part when I was a kid @RVI
he memorized it phonetically when they were teenagers
Good album

ive barely assimilated 23
Walk On was much easier cause ive already technically listened to it 500 times cause of RZA sampling the whole dang song for I Cant Go To Sleep

Not psych imo but a classic. It's been in my rotation.

i used to think that too but after digesting their progression out of psych im okay with calling the debut borderline psych. and definitely for a few songs
they got their record deal after opening for the Grateful Dead
bet all those hippies were tripping balls getting their mind blown by latin rhythms
feel like by 1969 the psych classics are tending towards one thing (usually hard rock or prog) and there's not as much pure psych at this point. except by those bands who were behind the curve a few years

psych was about 4 years old at this point which is forever in the life of a rock and roll phase back then so yeah everybody was over it pretty much
