the breakdown at 2:27 nearly as hype as the outro to Stand! @twinkletoez

@RVI first listen to Love's False Start... jamming the first song... wonder who's ripping guitar in his band... checks notes

Magma debut is slightly mid for me but its the start of an honestly
pretty elite discography. they were one of the prog bands that even the postpunks liked
have a feeling you might like the debut and not liking the rest of the stuff though. its before they got super magma-y and codified their divisive signature alien military ritual opera vibe
you aware of any of the lore or the language thing they got?

hope this doesnt scare you off
All their music is in a made up language called Kobaïan. All their music/lyrics revolve around a concept of a future where humanity leaves the apocalyptic Earth to go live on another planet called Kobaïa and live with aliens or find enlightenment or some s***. dont think any of the fans really give a s*** about the mythos its just an interesting part of their worldbuilding
debut is just kinda weird prog jazz rock but once they settle into their own created genre Zeuhl within a few albums they created some of the most glorious room clearing music known to man

helps that their art/iconography is cool
apparently all their newer albums (up to 2022) are bangers so they could be in the convo for longest running good bands of the era too

Fake language is definitely for the best since they're French
album is underrated tbh. the highlights are amazing

yeah you can be disappointed they didnt capture their heavier energy after the live debut but taking it for what it is its still great. the guitars

All of 70s my weakest era but I'll try
