did you hear any of the 1969 versions? one of their mainstays throughout the years, never been my absolute favorite but its some peoples

prob got its best era a few years later in 73-74 or 77

try this one from one of the most canonical shows

definitely the best Dead youve pulled up with so far

I think so but this version has an exquisite smolder

and compare it to that undercooked mid studio version on their 1967 debut

shows their ability to grow and transform rootsy songs over a period of years. making the true art form the living performance collected over hundreds of renditions
