might have to sift through this 2023 release, not sure how much of it is brand new/worthwhile https://shop.thewho.com/products/whos-next-life-house-super-deluxe-edition-10cd-blu-ray
im sure the life stuff is great anyway
holy

single version so I dont have to hear those goddamn synthesizers all day
this post is a disgrace
this post is a disgrace
Who's Next suffers the same fate as Joshua Tree in that I can hardly stand hearing the big songs anymore
masterpiece album but Baba O'Reilly and Wont Get Fooled been overplayed to death for me (same as the first 3 JT songs)
still cant get enough of every other song on Who's Next though
I cant believe this wealth of new peak era Beach Boys songs
you check out the Surfs Up bonus tracks yet?

wasnt paying attention to which ones are from which era but I was listening to some of the Dennis ones today
also that longer version of Wouldnt It Be Nice to Live Again was kinda interesting. i dont forsee any of those other songs topping that one as an all time classic ever

all those Denis are from 70-71
yeah the long version of Wouldn't It Be Nice is absolute zenith
Santana 3 one of my instant go-to's lately
same as Abraxas was last year
i wonder how you'll feel about their following era when they got a lot jazzier

Hopefully it's not as diaper as Jeff Beck's foray
the Rolling Stone album guide that used to be my Bible says Lotus is their zenith
1971 is literally any song from La Woman
Hyacinth mf'in House
top 3 Doors
video says 1968 but discogs says 1971. check out that songwriting credit name

Jeff Beck's foray was great but Santana's def better imo. its got really cool mystique to it as you would probably expect. Carlos even hooked up with mahavishnu john mclaughlin later for a colossal meeting of the spiritual fusion guitar wankers thats a bit too much even for me
and Lotus definitely not a bad shout for zenith. long af though so feels kinda cheating
sabbath-worshiping gem single

Santana got the god level percussion work as well
kinda crazy that the two biggest multiracial rock acts of the era (Sly and Santana) both had white drummers
funky white boys
