Don't think the 60s spirit of competitiveness was matched again until the synthpop wars
New Order vs Depeche vs OMD vs Pet Shop Boys etc all pushing the limits of the new technologies
But yeah I'm so so excited to see what the results for the next handful of years are
music's the golden era

tru the whole synth revolution really pushed people creativity sound wise to find something new again where the 70s was more bluesy laid back days

the flipside of Little Richard saying the same thing about Elvis and black music

yeah the 80s and synth stuff is cool but im taking 70s over it in terms of creativity and quality any day, as well as sheer amount of music
feel like 1975-1976 was the weakest point tho
but dont really like trying to compare years/eras like this anyway so idk

so am i but the competitive spirit in the 70s doesnt feel as strong to me. maybe for the end of the decade with the punk/post-punk bands but the classic rock bands were just competing for who could be the most epic windbags (or go deeper into blues/folk/country roots) compared to the 60s and 80s guys really pushing things forward. not the guys tuned into germany like i said.

Elvis and Ray were both so honest and spiritual, it only makes sense
