sheesh..
should at least break your rules a tad while its early and catch up on Cartola and Antonio Carlos Jobim+Elis Regina albums
those 2 albums are among the most classic of all Brazilian music. both are short too.
especially since you apparently missed out on Jobim so far who is one of their top exports (i didnt get into bossa nova until more recently so I didnt rec him to you either tbf)
I am flexible when it comes to dipping back a bit to check out something I missed
fine
@Aruji @RASIE @Fella @twinkletoez better hit me with any recs you got for this years lads

@Elric
To be fair, this is how I feel about trying to get you to listen to steeleye span for the last 3 years and you just refuse

Nah I didn't even listen to that one, Below The Salt was my first.
Check out Parcel Of Rogues. Can't believe a later Fairport fan can't get into that.

if it makes you feel better i have been giving BT Express a thorough digestion
this album had a #2 and #4 hit
im always getting surprised by random funk/soul albums i come across that seem like slightly underground gems but then nope they were commercial success too, just not as appreciated by later internet crowd

yes im aware
looking forward to another BT album this year
and yeah exactly the joy of this thread because such a small amount of the great material from any year stays in the public consciousness
even if it was a hit eons ago
Yeah but we did get this masterpiece of a song. Collins sounds otherworldly on this. Blew me away when I stumbled upon it earlier this year.
!https://youtube.com/watch?v=mVUka-V-K-s&si=i-RXOzU5FTLKFYfaI never heard the hackett solos i should do that
not the vibe I was expecting from Suzi Q
I never really got much out of her outside of a few songs (Devil Gate Drive, If You Can’t Give Me Love), but this is nice.

she's a classic to me off this song/performance alone back in '73

her guitar is bigger than she is
I can’t find an exact date on this (I just know this one is mid 70’s), but this compilation is excellent. They were called the American version of Slade, but they’re pulling just as much from T Rex, Big Star, and The Rasberries.

its way past that but imagine its 1971 summer 4 am you and like five of your boys are completely wasted and everyones alseep except you and this s*** comes on that everyone missed on their first three spins because they were too turnt
its no surprise everyone hates boomers they had it like no other
