The queen beginning her prime
Ike and Tina, Drifters , Ben E King, Chuck Jackson all had a big espanol infusion this year
country music too thanks to Ring Of Fire

all ive got from 64 so far is Buck

early George Jones comp I got goes up to '62. been on the rest of those artists but different years as well
another banger from this dude that was gnarly enough for The S***Pistols to cover
wonder if they knew it was the reviled Page thrashing on there
@RVI this b-side of Crying Game is also sinking in HEAVILY and i need you to acknowledge the how classic of an a/b that single was
blasphemous to say but almost as good as I Get Around/Dont Worry Baby that year

jimmy page lowkey had some british invasion classics
shouldnt be surprising i guess
i also been underrating the first few Yardbirds singles with Clapton
dont know why i pretended they didnt exist until now. I Wish You Would pretty effectively captures the frenzy of their live rave ups and his solos on A Certain Girl and Good Morning Little Schoolgirl are definitely way beyond any other brit that year.

yeah ive always liked em, of course not as good as the Beck ones but a solid start. Certain Girl solo was definitely a standout one for me

Yeah I never skip the country songs when they come on the playlist and I'm cruisin :datass:

Beck didnt have his fuzzbox, pedals etc yet in '64 apparently
Yardbirds wanted Page after Clapton left but Eric recommended Beck which is surprising just off this

@TheLifeofLogn you still into the 60s bud?
yeah definitely one of his best too imo and probably more deserving than Promised Land of my HM. shoutout Emmylou Harris whose cover I heard this week. cant remember what it was but I also heard another Chuck cover by a country aritst, cool to see him get that respect
Promised Land definitely a rewrite but it just slaps. and no particular place to go and little marie to a slightly lesser extend
Yessir

Dylan and Chuck (at minimum) two all time goat songwriters who have Elvis as their preloaded answer to "who did the best rendition of one of your songs"
