    I was probably talking about their abilities i.e. not writing their own songs and not having strong voices compared to others

    agreed but none of that mattered when the level of preferential treatment they got from Gordy basically amounted to career-sabotage for the other women who might have challenged Diana's stardom.

    they (and the temps) got priority on all the best songs and the fanciest production budgets.
