The Clark Sisters are/were a legendary gospel group. Their mother wrote their songs and she was actually the one who created 3 part harmony in black gospel music which quickly transcended into R&B music as well.
They're not super famous but they were I think the first black gospel group to truly break through. They have Grammys and a couple #1 songs on the gospel chart. They had a top 20 album too I believe They made a biopic about them a few months ago. Everyone from Beyonce to Mariah Carey to younger acts like Trey Songz have been inspired by them in some way. Even Drake sampled them (Scorpion I think).
