Niggas that dont listen to more than one genre telling a black girl from TEXAS that making country (offspring of black blues musicians) is white
Lot of yall niggas be dumb.
on a first listen of Texas Hold Em i like thee thumping beat and the piano breakdown near the end but idk if i like the whistling and this hook isn't nearly as strong as BREAK MY SOUL's (which was the first single for RENAISSANCE iirc)
None of her albums have benefitted from the artful/four quadrant dichotomy of the AOTY winner I always talk about. Then there’s the sad fact that black acts only win AOTY when there’s an “ok this is hip and black but accessible to our tradition of what one of the good ones should sound/be like” - and she doesn’t fit that at all. Her music is too electronic, too urban, too defiant of whiteness musically and pathologically to have ever won AOTY
…until she kills it with those old white Grammy voters favorite genre
Oh wow that four quadrant s*** is real? That's too bad
ok I like 16 Carriages more as a song overall, it might be just me but i think there's something about the mixing that makes her vocals feel at odds with the instrumental, like as if they weren't originally part of the song
ya know i thought i was trippin when i heard her say “drop the music” at the end of the verizon commercial so i came here to verify if anything new dropped but didnt see a thread immediately. guess i wasnt trippin at all
Texas hold ‘em is fun & cute
generally don’t care for country but Beyonce does everything too tier so I’m interested in seeing how this goes
I like the songs but a whole album of those would be a slog to listen to, I need her to spice that country up or smth why does everyone take a very traditional route when transitioning to country music? Add some signature sounds add some instruments to that s***

There’s also tons of black country artists these days and there’s allot of black people that like country music
