Crazy how this is so much better than cowboy Carter

Renaissance is the slightly better album, but don’t diminish CC‘s strengths. Lyrically it’s her best album yet, and sonically she experimented way more, without fearing of alienating her core fanbase. At the end of the day artists at that point of their career try to play it safe, so you at least have to admire her boldness.

Vocal-wise, it's her best outing by a mile as well.
