i’m surprised they haven’t worked together at this point, it’s not too far fetched because Caroline Polachek wrote No Angel LMAO
I said what I said, You Proof is one of the worst hits of last year on top of that
Yes he was successful beforehand. No I don’t think he’d be top 10 current sellers all genre over a year later without people having rallied around him. My position is that there’s absolutely nothing in the music itself that separates him from the rest of the pop country pack to justify it
i mostly disagree on the 1st part, he was already breaking sales records and one of the biggest names in country and the album just solidified his trajectory. it gave him a bump in publicity but not enough to give him the insane sales numbers he has. i think its more a matter of the n word controversy not impeding his career at all than it literally making him a superstar
he just appeals to the widest amount of people possible, he still retains some of the appeal of the "bro country" and "boyfriend country" things but is still beyond that. And he has a really high level of pop sensibility but still some grit and ability to do ballads. tons of appeal for both men and women and he also incorporates influence from rap,r&b,pop. its definitely different from some of the pop country people like Florida Georgia Line/Maren Morris who have basically no "real country" cred. and honestly his voice is just better than all those people too and that's a big factor. he's already spawning successful clones like Bailey Zimmerman
i’d love to see her and Zach Bryan too…he’s incredible
real
real
you put me on bro…i can’t stop playing that album i forgot to include it in my year end list
Is that bro with the All My Homies Hate Ticketmaster live album? I’ve not listened yet but he gets respect from me off that alone
you gotta peep his album from last year American Heartbreak…it’s long as f*** but there’s so many gems on there

Fair take I respect it
It’s a good point about actually having country cred unlike those other names. As much as the lyrics irk me, they are what he lived
