After being the centerpiece of one of the most successful girl groups of all time, 21 year old Beyoncé set about making the rarely successful transition to renowned solo artist. Selling over 11M copies worldwide, the set produced iconic singles like the immortal #1s Crazy In Love and Baby Boy, Top 10s Naughty Girl & Me Myself and I and fan-favourites like Be With You, Signs and Speechless. She received 5 Grammy awards in 2004 and went to even higher acclaim with her following projects.

    For me, it's

    Beyonce
    4
    Lemonade
    Renaissance
    B'Day
    Dangerously In Love
    IASF

DIL is a good album and could be considered a classic based on its commercial success and many people having nostalgia for it.

But it wasn't as focused as other Bey albums. She was still finding her signature sound on this and it wounded up sounding like more of a collage than a cohesive album.

That said, Crazy In Love and Me, Myself & I will forever be cookout and wedding staples.

Interesting ranking on the top half. Most people would probably rank Renaissance at #1, then either 4, Self-titled or Lemonade as the runner up, but B‘Day also gets huge amount of love. DIL was the right move though, especially the singles they chose. Matthew made sure she would come out of DC with a Bang, performing at every show, using every opportunity to solidify her name in the industry.
